BURPENGARY PONY CLUB
Burpengary Pony Club caters for riders of all levels, from raw beginners on the lead, to experienced competitors. We cater from all ages, on muster days the riders are grouped according to their riding ability, with riders able to progress through the groups as their riding skills improve.
We try to expose our riders to all disciplines, we have excellent instructors who give hours and hours of their valuable time to run out Musters. During a muster riders will generally participate in 3 - 4 activities. The smaller riders are given breaks as they need them and they finish as lunch time.
The club is located at the Burpengary Equestrian Centre (BEC) which gives us access to a full size indoor area, an outside sand area and we have a wonderful cross country course. The Club shares the BEC with a number of other clubs and we share the use of the arenas with these other clubs.
Some of the disciplines our riders compete include: Dressage,Combined Training, Showjumping, Jumping Equitation, One Day Events, Hunter Trials, Sporting and Mounted Games.
During the year we hold a number of 'Ribbons Days', these "Members Only" days give our riders who do not regularly compete a chance to see what happens at events, complete with ribbons.
To raise funds throughout the year to maitain the grounds and purchase equipment we run a number of events throughout the year, Hunter Trials, a One Day Event (ODE), a Gymkhana and an Oldies Day. This is a huge workload and as part of our membership criteria we ask our members to commit to a minimum number of working bees and set up days, we are proud of the facilities our club can offer and this commitment from our members is the only way we can maintain it.
